Caring for a loved one can be one of the most precious gifts we can give them and ourselves. These can be times of great love, intimacy, and laughter - they can also be times of frustration and exhaustion, often caused by a lack of practical and emotional support.
Hospice also provides an opportunity for individuals caring for a dying loved one to meet together once a week for mutual support. Trained volunteers are available to provide support as part of our Caregivers Support Circle. You may want to consider asking for a one-to-one volunteer to be assigned to your family. These volunteers are assigned to a family for the duration of the illness and can provide respite for caregivers as well as emotional and practical support.
