Our Vision - Mission - Values:
Our Vision
That the dying experience dignity and peace; their caregivers receive the help they need; and their family and friends are supported in their grief._
Our Mission
Dying, caregiving, and grieving are three of life’s greatest challenges. Nanaimo Hospice believes that everyone struggling with these challenges regardless of age, means or culture deserves support. With compassion and dignity, our volunteers and professional staff offer free programs, resources and education to our community when and where it is needed most.
Our Values
We believe that each person is unique, and should be valued, affirmed and treated with dignity, respect and understanding. Individual choices should be respected to allow life to be lived fully.
We believe that life is a precious journey of growth and development and that dying and grieving are a natural part of this journey that can be embraced with dignity, serenity and hope.
We believe that learning is an important part of life's journey and provides the key to knowledge, understanding and growth. Knowledge empowers individuals to be autonomous.
Each life journey is unique. We believe that the dying individual, their family and friends should be given quality care and support to meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs on their own terms.
We believe that strength comes from our partnership with the community and we strive to support and promote a community-wide program of hospice palliative care.
