GENEROUS SUPPORT FOR THE NANAIMO KNIGHTS ANNUAL OLDTIMERS HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
In September Nanaimo Hospice received a donation of $2000 from Thomas Russell and Myles Parsons from the Nanaimo Knights. These funds were raised from their Annual Oldtimer’s Hockey Tournament held from August 7th to 10th at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
Russell and Parsons made the decision to support Hospice when several of their friends succumbed to cancer and they realized that not everyone wins the fight against this disease. When it is evident that there is no cure and a person is deemed palliative, Hospice is there to help - and they wanted to support the programs and services locally.
A big thanks to the Nanaimo Knights!
