Meet the Nanaimo Bar Team
The Nanaimo Bar Team is Nanaimo’s local team participating in the Cycle of Life Tour — an annual cycling fundraiser supporting compassionate hospice care across Vancouver Island. Made up of passionate riders, supporters, and community champions, the team comes together each year to raise awareness and funds for hospice programs that provide care, comfort, education, and grief support for children, youth, adults, and families facing advanced illness, dying, and bereavement.
By riding in the Cycle of Life Tour, the Nanaimo Bar Team helps support the important work of Nanaimo Community Hospice Society and hospice organizations throughout the island. Every kilometre ridden and every dollar raised helps ensure compassionate hospice care remains available in our community.
Whether you ride, donate, volunteer, or cheer from the sidelines, your support helps make a meaningful difference. Together, we are riding for care, connection, and community.
We’re excited to share our upcoming community fundraiser in partnership with COLT – The Cycle of Life Tour. Join us on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 PM at The Wellington Pub for an evening of burgers and drinks, live music, and a silent auction — all in support of a meaningful cause.
Tickets are $35, and we’re pleased to welcome special guest Josh Carter for the evening.
All proceeds directly support compassionate hospice care and grief support programs provided at no cost to individuals and families in our community through Nanaimo Community Hospice Society.

“When I first heard about the Cycle of Life Tour through Victoria Hospice, I wondered, ‘Why couldn’t we at Nanaimo Hospice do the ride too?’ Hospice has always been close to my heart. After sitting with my mother as she was dying, I never wanted anyone to have to face that journey alone. That experience led me to become a Hospice volunteer 25 years ago.
It wasn’t hard to convince my husband John to join the team with me, and together we have been proud to support hospice care through the Cycle of Life Tour.”
